The Yellow Book listings in general will reveal more intererst, and will more than likely be more apt to purchase. Why you ask? They have SPENT FOR the listing you are scraping. They are actively paying for advertising. They understand that it takes cash to generate income. They comprehend the expenditure of acquiring service. They have paid for advertising in the past, they will spend for advertising in the NOW– AND the future.
Is is much easier to sell websites to those that do not have one? NO. Not that it cant be done, that is exactly what I do. but I don’t make 1000 calls and believe I have 2 or 3 possibilities to close a sale.
Is it much easier to sell marketing to owners with sites? NO. They have currently paid for thier marketing, the site.
Let me toss a concept at you. you believing is precisely in reverse. You should be selling advertising to those that don’t have a site, and selling websites to those that do have sites.
Company’ without sites … a simple workout … Get the regional paper, and look at those that promote there. You WILL find ads that do not have a website. go and see if they do have a site … if they dont. call them and sell them advertising. They are more apt to invest on something they are already purchasing than they wouldbe a websie that they don’t have.
Very same applies for those with sites … yes in your local paper there will be business’ with websites. However look at the business. they will tend to be bigger. When you in fact goto the sites, they more often than not will be Business place holders vs a site that is actually drawing in leads. These are individuals you would wish to offer site style to. Why? because they are TESTED buyers of that specific service.

BUT I’ve probably been selling for longer than you are old, and I have actually been offering online services for over 20 years. Ive put in my time. I have played by the rules enough time to understand when they can be broken. Your not there. not even close.
